I walked out of work and it was just freezing yesterday morning. I pushed the button on the dash of my Honda for the temperature and it read 16 degrees. George said I looked like the “Michelin Man” as I was leaving the store I was so bundled up in warm clothes. I certainly abhor the cold. I was glad my task at work was not bringing in the carts like I did for so many months last summer.
The dogs and I have a new routine every morning. I run by McDonalds and get us all a sausage biscuit for breakfast every day as a treat. The dogs love this. They will be impatiently waiting looking out the window for me to return home every morning. I can see my house warming party on the back of the couch every morning when I return home.
Helen also called me yesterday morning and asked me what I wanted for supper as it was Helen Friday. I asked for spaghetti sauce and meatballs.
“Your daddy say’s I make my sauce too sweet!,” she warned me.
I wanted to try it anyway and it as delicious. Helen left out much of the sugar she would add for her family.
About two months ago I fell into this deep depression. More of a lethargy or apathy really than depression. Mom was so alarmed last week when I told her I hadn’t even been on the Internet in two months. She knows how important the Internet is to me. It is my window on the world and basically my social life.
“Would you get back on the Internet if I bought you a new computer?” she asked with dad’s approval.
I grew excited and wanted to order all the parts and put it together. Mom was worried I would never get all those parts together into a workable computer and called me everyday asking if I had gotten my computer working yet. I had a blast putting it all together and it reinvigorated my zest for continuing the blog and getting back on the internet.
Fred’s Dollar Store recently started selling dairy items and frozen meals. A new ritual for me and mom is to try a different flavored pint of ice cream every night. The ladies at Fred’s are always glad to see us as it means it is close to time for them to get off with our arrival.

Wow...glad to see you back. I have missed you!
Aren't dogs just the greatest?! Bet they love those sausage biscuits!
glad to see you back.
Glad you're posting again. So give us the "specs" on the new computer please!
New computer! great...post the details of this new toy of yours.
Andrew---I laughed our loud when you said your Mom was worried that you'd never get your new computer put together. If anyone could do it, you could. Glad you're back.
Nothing like a new computer to get rid of the blues!!
So good to see you back..
(((Hugs))))
Good to see you back Andrew. When winter hits I go into hibernation mode. SAD hits me pretty hard.
Delighted to see you back online, and still working away at your job... that's a major accomplishment! I understand well those periods of lethargy when nothing feels appealing, most often we find our way back out into light and living eventually. I often stop for McD sausage bisquits for breakfast on my way to work... good stuff. So is their sweet tea!
You're back and I'm glad. We have 18 inches of snow predicted for "our neck of the woods." How about you??!!
There is nothing better than sharing with your doggies - I know all about that. :-) Depression sucks - I'm glad to see you are getting out of your funk.
I'm glad you had fun putting together the computer. Back in the days when the dinosaurs roamed there used to be this store called Heathkit which sold computer kits and people would put them together.
so happy to see you back. but i am sorry you suffered from such a deep depression.
lots of love to you from frigid haddonfield, nj,
jane
Between the time change and the cold and the meds change it's no wonder you weren't feeling up to par. So very happy to see you back and that you are doing ok. I am about to start a new job next week myself so not sure how great I'll be feeling, but at least I know you're better. Don't feel pressured into updating us all the time, we are happy to hear from you whenever you feel like it and to hear whatever it is you want to share.
My grandmother made sweet spaghetti sauce too. Used to cook raisins in it to cut the acidity. Yuck. It was the only thing she made that I didn't just love. I miss her :)
And you did notice that some of us were fighting amongst ourselves in your comments so you can't even take the blame for that!
I'm happy to have you here again, you've been missed.
My grandma who is a full blooded Italian used to put sugar in her homemade spaghetti sauce. So Helen is in good company with the sweet sauce.
I am interested in the new computer. Winter has a way of filling me with lassitude.
{HUGE GRIN} I am so glad you are back to blogging. I missed reading your posts!Take good care of you Andrew.
welcome back andrew . sorry you had a hard couple of months . we missed you so much because you make even every day things very interesting , cant wait to read you every day or when ever you feel like it . good luck with your new computer sounds like a fun time trying to put it together .

So glad you made it through the down period still employed and independent. was very concerned for you and I am sooo glad that you slogged through and are coming out the otherside with life still moving forward.

Welcome back!!!
Welcome back, my friend. I've missed you and it's wonderful to see your post. <3
I bet your puppies are happy campers when you bring them that delicious breakfast treat.
Fill us in on the new computer. It was funny that you mom was worried that you couldn't get all those parts together. LOL
Did you count the YES votes? I think the yeses have it, we want you to continue to blog. There is a huge group of internets out here that are so happy you are back.
These short cold days make me feel sad as well. I'm already tired of all these layers of clothes and it being dark before 6:00 pm!
Glad to have you back, jonathan. know what you mean about the depression, this is always my worst time of the year, with the cold and dark. it sucks. anyway, fill us in on the specs!
best,
mark
I am so glad you are back! You were so missed! Glad you are still working. Glad more, I guess, that George is still working. I think I missed his adventures as much as yours. Watch it on the sausage bisquits for dogs. As my vet told me, when I rushed my puppy to him, "Puppies aren't meant to eat bean burritos!" LOL
It's very good to hear from you.
Glad to catch up on the latest with you & the puppies (and your Mom and George et al!).
Great to see you back... :)
I am glad your feeling better...
Dirk
Seeing you blogging again cheers me up more than I can say! I'm sorry you had a rough few months but I hope all is well now and you stick around with us for a while now. You were sorely missed! Glad you're back with us again.
Glad you're back! You've been missed!
So, talk to us my dear - what have you been doing? How are the girls? Is George staying sober? Is your job still going well? Do you still love us?
We're dying to know what's happening in your life these days!
I'm still complaining about the weather and just waiting for something to nag you about!!!
Love ya,
Grannie
