I was out of work like a bullet from a gun this morning. I reached my car and there was an inch of ice coating everything. I had to use my driver’s license just to scrape the ice off my windows and mirrors. “Just get me home sweetheart,” I told my CR-V as I got in the car and cranked it up. The Civic got left at home last night. My CR.V has all-wheel drive. The most dangerous part of the drive home was the bridge over the interstate. I got sideways one time and I think I lost one of my nine lives. The city was already spreading sand on the bridge.
When I arrived home, the dogs were so disappointed that I didn’t have their sausage biscuits. I then called mom to make sure she picked me up to go get groceries today. Mom can’t drive on a good day, and especially not on ice. I told her I would do all the driving for today.
I think the college football championship is tonight. I doubt I will even watch it. I have no desire to watch a gladiator sport for the evening. The game will set the tone and demeanor of my brother and father for a few weeks depending on whether Auburn wins or loses.
I think the worst part of the ice storm is over for us. I was elated to have power when I arrived home. Especially, to have Internet service. In my all or nothing fashion, I am either using the Internet all the time, or not at all. Do any of you think I will ever learn moderation? It does have a direct influence on my capricious behavior.

We only have rain here along this part of the coast. I am glad for that. Ice storms wreak havoc with the trees. Have a good day and be safe.
I live for my internet too and we have a lot of bad weather that can cause it to go.
Take care driving today!!
We have about three inches of mixed snow with sleet. It started snowing/sleeting last evening right after dark. The roads are a mess, however, there are a few people out. I'm going to do a post with photos, because this is so rare for the deep south. The kids love it.
All my grandson's prayers failed to close his school today. Not even a flake of snow.
We are expecting another big snow on Tuesday night. I so get the all or nothing thing. Moderation is the key and it can be so hard sometimes.
Go Ducks!!! My daughter is rooting for Auburn. Living in Alabama for so long gave her a good sense of loyalty to them. Living in Oregon now we are OSU Beaver fans, but will root for the home team in the championship.........DUCKS.
Moderation??! What is that?! I have a difficult time with that too.
I tend to be all or nothing when I'm involved with someone or something too Andrew. Moderation is far healthier, but it's hard to maintain that balance. The first step to changing anything in our lives is recognizing it. I also think though that active minds get quickly bored and tend to move on to something else and then back later. I do that often with craft projects and other interests. It's also why I'm not good at participating in groups. I lose interest.
Goodness, I thought you would be more enthusiastic about the ice/snow event, Mr. Weather! I talked to my son in NC and he said the ice/snow there was looking pretty good, too!
Stay safe getting to work tomorrow! Whatever is on the ground tonight is certain to freeze up like crazy overnight! Hope most of it's melted by the time you have to get out tomorrow.
Have a fun Tuesday,
Grannie
