More Consistency in the New Year….

That’s is my only resolution this year is to be more consistent with my blog writing efforts. I have a tendency to be very capricious in my actions just like “The Homeless Guy” and want to change that habit of mine.  I thought it was better than some of the other resolutions I could make such as gaining more weight. It certainly is much more obtainable.

The Traditional New Years Day Meal…

It is a Southern tradition to eat a pork tenderloin, turnip greens and black eyed peas on New Year’s Day.  The more greens and peas you eat, the richer you will be in the New Year is how the old custom goes. I had two invites.  One to Mrs. Florene’s hours and one to Charlie's house.  It was a hard decision to make.  Mrs. Florene and Charlie's wife are both wonderful cooks.   I decided to eat lunch with Mrs. Florene and George and to eat dessert at Charlie’s house later in the evening. Charlie’s wife is baking a chocolate pie.

The Workday Seems to Never Be Done…

I was very glad to get off this morning.   I have really wracked up the overtime in these past few weeks.  Last night, I helped set up a new 3D TV display and was interested in what is being touted as the new big thing in television and movies.   All it did was give me a headache and eyestrain.

“Who would want to sit around with those glasses on for hours?” I asked Jim, m y friend from the grocery department.

“When they can do it without the glasses then call me back,” I also told Jim.

Happy New Year! As I was reading about all your overtime and your job, I realized how this job is so perfect for you.

Wishing you the best! Rita

Happy New Year Andrew!

What an amazing year 2010 turned out to be for you... life changing! My wishes for you are that 2011 proves to be even better, and I am confident you will make it happen! How wonderful that you had invitations to dinner... and went... you've come a long way!

My goal is to get back to regular bloggging too, hope to see you around my place! :-)

Happy New Year, Andrew. Your blog keeps me coming back and back and back. Your posts on Southern cooking are delicious and I love to hear about Maggie and Caramel. I've been so busy during December that I hardly had time to blog at all, even though the impulse to tell about something was there. Hope to manage my time better in 2011 so that I can do more of the things that matter to me.

Happy New Year. This is my first year without collard greens and black eye peas.

We were going to a dear friend's today for our collard greens and blackeye peas, but he died suddenly last evening. We had big plans with a great menu planned. We are heartbroken.

I read 3D is not good for you, it messes with your brain and eyes. I'm with your friend, when they work it out without those glasses let me know.

I agree with you on the 3D. I wouldn't mind it for a couple hours for a spectacular movie. But I don't really need to see Wheel of Fortune and Pat Sajak in 3d. I REALLY hate it when it's used in horror movies because you know it's just going to be cheap scares where something is thrown at your head. >.<

Happy New Year!

I hope to blog more regularly in the new year too. I was so surprised when I saw my archives and how little I posted each month. So, it's my hope, not my resolution.

I've been to the Sony store in our local mall and checked out the 3-D TVs. Pretty impressive. I imagine one day it will be the norm. Same with tablet computers. One day everyone will be saying, remember the days when computers had hinges?

Happy New Year! I made some black eyed pea soup too (flavored it with smoked pork necks since I didn't find any hamhocks). I think you're doing great these days - probably a lot better than I am right now.

I hope you have the best year - you've earned it in every way.

Andrew, I haven't told you lately just how proud of you I am. You're amazing! You've come so far since the days of Clara and the gang. I look forward to your blog. Even checking it several times a day to see if you've written anything.

Happy New Year. 3D is great to watch for a few minutes at a time - just long enough to ooh and aah over butterflies flitting towards you or balloons floating by. But to watch it for any longer that that is just so annoying. It can't be good for the eyes. I'm with you, right now it's a fad. I don't believe the majority of people will embrace it.
