More High Strangeness…

My father has not been very affectionate to me for years and years.  Lately, he’s been telling me “I love  you, son” just out of the blue and it catches me off-guard every time.  Have I finally garnered some respect from him after years of disdain?  It certainly seems like it and it feels good. It has a taken a lot of hard work and determination to finally getting treated as a man and adult for a change. “I love you, too” I will tell dad as it catches me so off guard I don’t know what to say back.

Arriving on a Jet plane…

I went this afternoon after a long nap to pick my parents up from the airport.  They had a great time, but are exhausted.  I don’t envy dad going gangbusters all weekend traveling on the holidays and having to get back to the old nine to five which is the pharmacy.  Atlanta’s airport is the busiest airport in America and it was easily living up to it reputation this afternoon.  I was glad to get mom and dad in the car and back on the interstate headed south.

Charlie is Like Me, We Can’t Do Anything Small…

“What’s is in the sack?” I asked Charlie who came roaring in with Horsefly in tow this morning.
“I got you two gallons of Blue Bell ice cream at Kroger,” Charlie replied.
Ah, a man of my own heart.  Charlie loves ice cream, too, and we both had a bowl waiting on Horsefly to finish the toilet inspection.  I have just a slight infatuation with ice cream at the moment.  Mom has tuned into this new obsession and his been feeding my habit.  I could be addiction to a thousand more worse things right? Bueller?

I don't like the Atlanta airport. I am usually delayed there. Always glad to be out of there.

Atlanta is certainly a huge airport. I love airports, concerning I work in one, that is a good thing.

I love how the dynamics of the relationship between you and your father are growing and changing. I'm sure it hasn't been a easy transition for him and I'm glad he is finally realizing you have come of age!

I was in that airport last June and was amazed! I had to take a tram from one side to the other - I've never seen an airport so huge!

That standing joke around here is that if you die, in order to get to the pearly gates, you'll still have to go through Atlanta!

A visit to the Atlanta Airport is a trip in itself! Nearly lost Mom there once.

Maybe your Dad is finally opening his eyes to how capable you truly are. I hope so. Regardless, it's always nice to hear that somebody loves you!

Last year was pretty eventful for you and I'm wishing you a new year with twice as many good things in store for you. Scritches for the doggies and a hug for you. Keep up the excellent attitude!!

Yum, Ice cream. I try not to buy it or I will eat it all.

Haven't been to Heartsfield in a long time. McCarran (Vegas) is where I always get stuck.

I am so HAPPY that you're back Andrew! :-)

That airport is a zoo! When my hubby travels we have learned to do curbside checkin downstairs and when he returns he rides the rapid rail to the first station and I pick him up in College Park. Makes life a lot easier. Oh, and I never leave for the airport until he calls me after landing (I can drive up there in 20 minutes).

So glad you and your dad are doing well.
