And Now She can Sleep on the Cotton of the Pharaohs…

“Should I wash these sheets before putting them on my bed?” mom asked me excitedly a moment ago on the phone.

“It will make them much, much softer,” I replied.

Mom was so excited to have those new expensive and much more luxurious high thread count sheets.  Mom is not going to drive all the way to Target for just anything.   I was rather surprised mom would even tackle the interstate to go to a nearby town to purchase this.  Thanks to Charlie for the hysteria he stirred up obsessing about these sheets. It got all of the obsessive compulsive souls in the family excited and stirred up as well.

90 Percent of the Time…

I find myself using my iPad to browse the Internet instead of that expensive computer mom bought for me when I was having my melancholy stint. Mom had hoped some of the inheritance money from my grandmother would jolt me out of my malaise. Oddly, I probably spend about 90 percent of the time on my iPad sitting in the den when the computer in my computer room is 10 times more powerful and has a much snappier feel to it.  The other 10 percent of my computer usage is blogging with my new desktop. I still can’t master the iPod’s keyboard. I am just not a hunt and peck keyboard typist.

My husband said he saw something on TV about bamboo sheets, that they were even softer and more luxurious than the Egyptian cotton. Of course softer equals more expensive!
