A Gag Order for George…

I probably censor about half of what George will say in our conversations as I transcribe them to the blog.   I just don’t want to offend my readership.  This morning George was going on about “those sandniggas” in Iraq.  George thinks anyone in the middle east is completely and totally nuts – brainwashed by Islam's teachings.  I told him this morning that he watches too much commercial television and most Muslims are good people.  George is the one who is completely brainwashed buying into the media’s news, hype and views.

“Would you condemn all of Christianity just because one nut job knucklehead like Fred Phelps is protesting at soldier’s funerals?” I asked George trying to get him to be more broad and open minded.

Tomorrow I am going to ask George what he thinks of Vegans.  George will often say they eat nothing but nuts and twigs.   The nuts and twigs part always makes me crack up.

iPad Woes…

I’ve downloaded 3 albums from iTunes via my iPad.  I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get those albums off the iPad  and copied to my computer.  That said, the iPad is the greatest time sink I have ever come across and I say that in a good way.  You can be comfortably reading blogs on your couch as you simultaneously watch TV.  Time flies and you look at your watch and realize 2 hours have passed.  The novelty of it all still hasn’t gone away.

If you've downloaded via iTunes, it should already be on your computer in the iTunes software. Do you synch your iPad with iTunes?

I love my iPad too -- all my music is on there (and on my computer via iTunes), I'm reading books through the Kindle app, and happily browse while I'm sitting by the woodstove in the great room.

I've thought of getting an iPad, but I still can't justify it yet. I'll probably wait until the cost drops. I have my laptop and an iPhone which works for what I need right now. But I am jealous that you have one. I really just need to play with one to really see if I can justify the cost.

I had the same problem syncing my iphone with itunes but you have to do it manually. I haven't figured out how to just back up the system automatically when I sync.

Re: vegetarians and vegans. They had just come on the scene about the time our older daughter got married some years ago. When we were planning the reception, the caterer said, "What should we do about the vegetarians? Guess I'll just turn em loose and let 'em graze."

I'm a kosher vegetarian, my dad says I eat "rabbit food" I've lived this way for 7 years. No red meat. I do eat fish however. Wasn't easy at first, now it's second nature and I don't miss the meat at all.

Your music should sync from ipad to itunes, if not they have programs for that. I once used one to rip the music off of my ipod after my computer crashed.

When your iPad is connected to the computer and you are in iTunes, look and see if the Music sync is set for to sync "entire music library". I hope this helps.

I have a vegan cookbook called "Bark and Grass." Can't wait to hear what George has to say on the subject! :D

From some of the "way back when" conversations with George, it's probably a good thing that you edit at least some of what he's got to say! If you ever let him loose in here, you better put up a warning!

Glad to see that you still enjoy your iPad! I keep thinking about getting one, but the price is holding me back. I did get a Kindle, since I love to read. I use it every day. The best feature is being able to enlarge the print for my old eyes! And I read tons of those FREE kindle books, too. I've saved a fortune on that!

Have a wonderful Thursday, dear!

You have to synch your iPad with iTunes on your computer. I have no trouble moving files from my iPhone or iPad to my computer and they go in the music library. The whole blog thing is a big time sink for me. I read and comment a lot so time flies.
