Maggie is going to single handedly destroy that couch in the photo above. It was my grandmother’s so it has sentimental value to me.  Maggie sits or lays on that couch cushion like any self respecting cat would do in a sunny window.  Except, she is a dog that weighs 30 pounds.

I woke up at my usual time well before dawn in a very sleepy and hungry stupor this morning – almost ravenous.  I could’ve slept for an hour or more if my stomach wasn’t protesting so much.  I took a long piping hot shower and then stumbled into the kitchen to get a small pan of water and a couple of ample pinches of salt boiling for some grits.  I then put some of those Pillsbury canned buttermilk biscuits that I don’t get too excited about on a baking pan as well and into a preheated 400 degree oven. 

“You know?” Maggie seemed to be saying sitting at my feet licking her lips and wagging her tail. “I live here too! Let’s eat and go for a walk!”

I didn’t forget about Maggie.  She had some sausage leftover warmed in the microwave from yesterday’s breakfast, some cheddar cheese, and a few canned biscuits as well which she then proceeded to go bury in the backyard.  That shows you what Maggie thinks of them as well.  I was just too lazy or sleepy to make homemade from scratch biscuits this morning even though it is fairly simple.

As Slow as Molasses or is it Just Norton?

“I installed Norton Internet Security on my laptop last night and my computer has been acting slow and funny since then,” Miss Pauline told me this morning with a frustrated looking frown on her face. 

I groaned on impulse. Those anti-virus programs often cause more problems than stopping them.  They are terrible resource hogs as far as a computer is concerned. It took a while to get all of Norton off and then to install Microsoft Security Essentials. It has been smooth sailing ever since.
