Alms for the Poor…

BrunswickI swung by the PIggly Wiggly at lunch to buy more of Posses’ Brunswick stew – the very same stew I discovered some months ago.  I also bought a giant loaf of very fresh white bread.  You can’t have Brunswick stew without Sunbeam white bread to dip into it with.  I left the grocery store and made a beeline to my parent’s house which is just about a 1/4 mile behind the Piggly Wiggly. It is the end of the week and I am almost out of food. Well, almost out of foods I like to eat I should say.

“Alms for the poor!” I told my mother excitedly as she answered the back door.

“You’re here to get the last of Helen’s macaroni and cheese,” mom said with a grin, “Helen does make some really good macaroni and cheese.”

“You know me well,” I replied to my mother.

Mom also walked downstairs to get me some microwavable Beeferoni and lemonades to drink as well. These were unsolicited.

“Thank you gracious madam,” I replied as mom gave me a hug, and then I headed home to chase my hunger pains away in high fashion.

You are so right about the bread and Brunswick Stew, and Helen's mac and cheese, has to be the world's best!
