I swung by the PIggly Wiggly at lunch to buy more of Posses’ Brunswick stew – the very same stew I discovered some months ago. I also bought a giant loaf of very fresh white bread. You can’t have Brunswick stew without Sunbeam white bread to dip into it with. I left the grocery store and made a beeline to my parent’s house which is just about a 1/4 mile behind the Piggly Wiggly. It is the end of the week and I am almost out of food. Well, almost out of foods I like to eat I should say.
“Alms for the poor!” I told my mother excitedly as she answered the back door.
“You’re here to get the last of Helen’s macaroni and cheese,” mom said with a grin, “Helen does make some really good macaroni and cheese.”
“You know me well,” I replied to my mother.
Mom also walked downstairs to get me some microwavable Beeferoni and lemonades to drink as well. These were unsolicited.
“Thank you gracious madam,” I replied as mom gave me a hug, and then I headed home to chase my hunger pains away in high fashion.
