Visiting Hours Are Over…

White_Glove_TestI managed to make it to bed last night at a pretty reasonable hour.  I slept for about 10 hours last night and feel fully rested.

Charlie came by last night to tell me he was cutting my hair this weekend.  My father was in tow.

“Your house is clean,” Charlie told me astonishingly. “I have nothing left to do.”

My father also bragged about how well I am doing as far as my housekeeping is concerned,  They notice things that I don’t see like that one little dust bunny in the corner of my den. I have to remind dad that if I had a fulltime house cleaner and cook like Helen then my house would be spotless as well.

scrambled eggs…which made for an interesting walk.  It was 33 degrees when the Mags and I left the house.  Both Maggie and I were securely bundled up with warm clothing.  I was glad to see light on the horizon as we headed back to our house.  The sun always meant warmth during my homeless days and was welcomed.  Only this morning, the sun was shrouded in clouds. I wanted to heckle Mother Nature for that.

Maggie and I were both ready for a hot and wholesome breakfast. I fried bacon this morning and scrambled some cheese eggs.  I then toasted some of Aunt B’s biscuits in my toaster oven. The meal was Maggie approved as she ate hers and wanted mine as well.  What a glutton! Maggie is a diminutive dog, but she eats like she is a Rottweiler.

Time for a Shopping Trip for Fun…

My father says I buy computer parts like women buy clothes,  Last night, I just laughed at his sexist remark and patted him on the back as he was walking out the front door..

“Choose your battles wisely,” I told myself under my breath.

After lunch, I am headed down to Auburn/Opelika Alabama to visit Best Buy and do some computer parts shopping.  I can’t leave Opelika without eating lunch at Jim Bob’s chicken fingers as well. I want another 12 Gigs of memory to make 24 Gigs installed. Why?  It is just going to be for fun.  I am pretty frugal most days except for this one hobby concerning computer hardware I have. Triple channel RAM is also dirt cheap these days as well unlike quad channel which is still relatively very expensive. .

Even a part-time housecleaner is a big help. We have two women who come for 2-3 hours every two weeks, and, if nothing else, it gives us the discipline to keep things "picked up" and "put away" so that they can really get down to business when they're here.

I wish I had people to come and clean my house too. Maybe in the future I'll have someone do it for me. In the meanwhile, I get to sweep, dust and mop away. Like Cinderella but without the coach and glass shoes. :)

Why does everyone think your not capable of taking care of yourself? I think you'd do a fine job given a chance...

PS you could always say dust bunnies are there to give Maggie something to chase indoors
