Life is Rolling Right Along Dear Friends…

sausage gravyHelen was cooking breakfast this morning when I stopped at my parent’s house to give my father some paperwork for Social Security.  Dad wanted to make sure I had filled it out correctly and that it was mailed back promptly.  Anytime I get anything in the mail from Social Security I get this doom and gloom feeling. They can be so intimidating.

“What are you cooking?” I asked Helen as she stood in front of the stove.

“I am making some sausage gravy and biscuits,” Helen told me. “Stay and eat with us.”

I told Helen I was already running late and needed to head to the Literacy Center. Helen just then pulled the biscuits out of the stove. I love Helen’s biscuits and she uses Bisquick as well which is interesting and surprising. Dad was in the den watching the TV and he asked me if I was volunteering this morning.

“I would’ve never thought in a million years that you would be so responsible about that,” he told me when I said yes.

It has taken a concerted effort on my part to get back in my father’s good graces.

The Craze That is Sweeping an Entire Nation…

Yes, video games are to be played today, and yes I was using lots of hyperbole in the title. I stayed up late last night playing Skyrim.  It is like an massive interactive book to play this game – much better than those run around and shoot things games or “twitch”  games as I like to call them…
